Hypatia Model 309
High current sourcing milliohm meter
Model 309
Hypatia's Model 309 is a high current sourcing milliohm meter. This instrument
uses a Motorola 68HC16 microcontroller in conjunction with two very high precision
16 bit A/D converters for making measurements. True RMS voltage, current, &
impedance values are output in real-time on the instrument's display as well
as through the communications port. Control of the instrument settings (i.e.
start/stop, timer setup, hi/low alarms, etc.) are provided by buttons on the
instrument's front panel as well as by sending SCPI commands through the communications
port.
A complete virtual instrument was developed to aid in automated test engineering
applications using the SCPI commands. This virtual instrument was created in
the form of a Windows™ ActiveX™ control. This allows developers
to easily use the virtual instrument and add instrument control to their own
custom applications.
Virtual Model 309 ActiveX™ Control
This product's microcontroller circuit design, firmware (real-time embedded
software), and the Windows™ ActiveX™ control were all developed
by the principal engineer of Frank Design.
