Keithco Soundlinc
Digital audio sound module with real-time mixing

Soundlinc PCB Top Side
Soundlinc is an embedded DSP sound board for use in high-end model railroad
trains. This product has an 8 megabit FLASH for storage of real sampled train
sounds, a D/A converter, a 5 watt audio amplifier, and a low voltage switching
power supply. Soundlinc is capable of playing multiple sounds back in real-time
while seamlessly mixing them together giving a level a realism higher then any
competitive product. Keithco's RF transmitter is used to control these sounds.
Soundlinc PCB Bottom Side
Programming of the FLASH memory is performed in-circuit using the DSP's JTAG
interface. To help make programming and configuration a simple task, a Windows™
based utility was developed.
Soundlinc Composer Programming Utility
This product's hardware circuit design, firmware (real-time embedded DSP software),
and the Windows™ programming utility were all developed by the principal engineer of Frank Design.
